First VDL Futura FDD2 for Austria delivered to Wetterstein Reisen
On Wednesday 21 December 2016 the first VDL Futura FDD2 for Austria was delivered to Wetterstein Reisen, one of the largest bus companies in the western part of the country. Wetterstein Reisen are known for their ultimate attention to safety and maximum passenger comfort. The delivered VDL Futura FDD2 impresses with its luxurious interior and ample seating, with an eye for detail. Comfort, safety, technology and design... all these elements are in perfectly harmony and make travel in a Futura FDD2 an altogether enjoyable experience.
Optimal Profit of Ownership
The Interior of the Futura FDD2 is characterized by round corners, good workmanship, modern, light colours, lightweight materials and spacious standing heights on the lower and upper decks. The headroom on the lower deck is a surprising 186 cm. It radiates unity and harmony, enhancing the travel experience and providing luxurious travel for passengers headed to a holiday destination or business appointment. A true innovation is the improvement of the driver's upward viewing angle, achieved by sloping the floor of the upper deck upwards at the windscreen. This gives the driver the feeling of having plenty of space and an optimal view. The lightweight modular construction in combination with the fuel-efficient powertrain and aerodynamic shape guarantee low fuel consumption and thus low CO2 emissions. For the coach operator this means double benefit – more paying passengers and lower fuel costs. The VDL Futura FDD2 is the ideal coach for those who value Profit of Ownership.
An eye for detail
The VDL Futura FDD2-141 for Wetterstein Reisen is efficiently equipped. Safety is paramount, so the vehicle is equipped with the latest safety assistance systems. Passenger and driver comfort are also very important. This double decker has a spacious 83+1+1 seating plan and is equipped with attention to detail, including the personalized deluxe VDL Class 500 seats. The wide middle door provides space for the installation of a wheelchair ramp so that disabled people can also enter and exit the bus. A removable platform also makes it possible to create two wheelchair places. The very generous luggage compartment provides plenty of space for the passengers’ luggage.
Wetterstein Reisen is one of the largest bus companies in the west of Austria. In 2015 Wetterstein Reisen purchased their first VDL bus, an ultra-luxurious Futura FHD2-139 with VIP package that seats 32 passengers in a spacious 2+1 arrangement. Soon after, in the spring of 2016, two additional Futuras were delivered, and the double-decker FDD2 now joins the fleet. Safety and optimal comfort for the passengers are high priorities. The company's own maintenance facility plays a big part in this. In May 2016 the Wetterstein Reisen maintenance and repair garage was made an official VDL Bus & Coach service point. This has further optimized the service network in the west of Austria.
